Bukit Panjang Plaza, KTV joint added to list of places visited by COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE — A Fairprice Finest outlet at Bukit Panjang Plaza, and a refurbished karaoke joint were among the new locations added by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to the list of public places visited by COVID-19 cases in the community recently.

In an update on Saturday (15 August), MOH announced four new locations:

• Hvala and Fairprice Finest at Somerset 111 (8 August)

• Fairprice Finest at Bukit Panjang Plaza (8 August)

• Jewel Music Box KTV at HomeTeamNS Khatib (1 and 2 August)

Epidemiological investigations also found that three cases (55169, 55469 and 55712) visited Jewel Music Box KTV at HomeTeamNS Khatib on 1 August and 2 August. Two of them were at the KTV for long periods for work purposes.

As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit. They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history.

“There is no need to avoid places where confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been. The National Environment Agency will engage the management of affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection,” said MOH.
