A bull on the loose causes chaos on the streets of Perth, Scotland

Video shows the escaped bull being chased by police cars as it causes chaos on a residential street in Perth, Scotland.

Taken in North Muirton, the footage is filmed from inside the safety of a house.

The animal can be seen bounding along the street as several emergency vehicles follow with their lights flashing.

One police van tries to stop the bull from charging on by overtaking it and blocking the road, although unsuccessful.

It is believed that the bull escaped from a local abattoir in a bid for freedom.

Local bus services were delayed whilst a school in the area had to close its gates for the safety of its pupils.

Fears for the wellbeing of those in Perth meant that once the animal was contained just after 10am, it was shot dead.

Residents of the Scottish town took to social media to share their opinions on the incident.

Some Facebook users made light of the situation.

North Muirton local Jonathan Hess joked that there was "a new gangster roaming the streets".

Others shared their relief in being inside whilst the bull charged around the town.

Many were saddened by the conclusion of the story.

The video was captioned: "Wee shame. Heard it escaped from [the local abattoir] … will be running for it's life!".

Another resident Hollie Syme commented: "Wish I could go and get him and stick him in our field with the horses, poor boy".
