Bum Job! Recruitment Poster Leaves Charity Shop Red Faced

Staff at a charity shop have been left red-faced thanks to an embarrassing typo.

In an attempt to get to the point, their advert for an assistant manager called for interested parties to instead apply for the role of ‘ass manager’.

The branch of British Heart Foundation in Bromley, London, placed the ad in their window last week - and have become the butt of many jokes on social media since.

The sign, which is actually advertising a position in Sidcup, South-East London, has since been changed after the blunder was pointed out to the manager.

British Heart Foundation are still advertising the role, which hasn’t yet been filled.

Christopher Morfill, 29, posted the image on Facebook after stumbling across the sign on Bromley High Street.

The IT engineer from Bromley said: “I saw it in the window of British Heart Foundation and just thought it was really funny. They had clearly missed a letter off!”

One user wrote on Facebook after seeing Christopher’s post: “They’ve got to start from the bottom.”

Bromley BHF shop manager, Jackie Shannon, said: “We are currently advertising for an Assistant Manager role in our Sidcup BHF shop and were shocked when the typo in our shop window sign was pointed out to us.

"We don’t mind being the ‘butt’ of a joke but we have now updated the sign.”
