Burglar is 'shot in the bum with a bow and arrow by homeowner'
A burglar has been shot in the bum with a bow and arrow by a homeowner, police have said.
The intruder was hit with the arrow after breaking into a property in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday afternoon.
The man stole cash and car keys from the home at Wattle Grove before he was confronted by the owner.
The resident, 68-year-old an, challenged the robber with a wooden bow as he tried to steal a car.

The robber fled from the vehicle and jumped a fence but was shot as he ran to a parked getaway car.
Police say the burglar was hit in the “buttocks or lower back area” with a bow and arrow.
However, he managed to escape in the getaway vehicle.
The exact extent of his injuries, if any, are unknown.
“Police seized a number of items from the location, including the bow and similar arrows,” a spokesman for New South Wales police told the BBC.
“We believe that the arrow is still with the injured party.”
Police are investigating the breaking and entering and making inquiries about the homeowner’s actions.
They have asked people in the medical profession to look out for someone who may come to them with an injury that could have been caused by an arrow.
