Police have studied CCTV after a takeaway was targeted by burglars. Two women smashed their way into Goodies Sandwich Bar, in Sandyford, in an early-hours wrecking spree.

In a social media post to customers, the High Street takeaway stated: "Our shop was sadly smashed by two female thieves. They took a few cakes, a few chocolate bars, and some pop and caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage. It’s not so much about what they have taken but the damage and the headache this has caused."

Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to Goodies following reports of a burglary. A woman was seen on CCTV taking food items and an electronic device. Another suspect also went inside and both of them left together after taking the goods. Officers have looked over CCTV and spoken to the business owner as part of their investigation into the burglary. Enquiries are continuing."

Any witnesses should call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
