Burn belly fat fast with doctor's list of nine 'weight loss foods'
If you're looking to burn belly fat, a doctor has revealed a list of foods and drinks you should look to include in your diet.
We all know how important regular exercise is when trying to lose weight, but it is also vital to eat healthily. As they say, you can't out-train a bad diet.
Dr Lott, an acupuncturist based in New York City, has amassed more than 300,000 followers on TikTok where he shares healthy eating advice. And in one of his recent videos, he listed "foods that help you lose belly fat".

First on the list were "blueberries", which are high in fibre and therefore make you feel full and eat less. They also contain antioxidants that reduce inflammation and promote a healthy metabolism.

"Bananas" also made the list. Like blueberries, bananas contain lots of fibre. They are also high in potassium, which can help reduce water retention and bloating.
Next up were "chilli peppers". Some studies have suggested that capsaicin, the active ingredient in chilli peppers, aids your body's ability to burn fat. Spicy foods can also make you feel full, which will help you avoid overeating.
Dr Lott also mentioned "broccoli", another food that is high in fibre. Broccoli also contains calcium (which can help with fat loss) as well as Vitamin C (which the body needs to make carnitine, a compound that converts fat into energy).
"Avocados" were next on the list. One study previously found that women who ate an avocado every day for 12 weeks had a reduction in visceral belly fat. Avocados are also high in fibre and healthy fats, making you feel fuller for longer.

Dr Lott also said eating "fish" can help reduce belly fat. Fish is high in protein, which increases your metabolic rate. It also contains omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to help reduce visceral fat.
He went on to mention "green tea". Studies have shown green tea to be beneficial in some ways - it reduces bloating and contains caffeine, which can temporarily increase metabolic rate - but its effects are small compared to other foods and drinks. "Water" was another drink Dr Lott mentioned, as staying hydrated is essential for any bodily function.
The final thing on his list was "eggs", which are beneficial for weight loss in a number of ways. As well as being a source of protein, eggs stabilise blood sugar levels, which can help reduce hunger and cravings. They are also low in calories.
