Burnley make 11th hour move for Stoke City midfielder
Josh Laurent is believed to be wanted by Burnley before transfer deadline day.
The Stoke City midfielder, aged 29, has been at the centre of a summer of speculation as he entered the final year of his contract but turned down a move to Turkey. He was also on the wanted list of relegated Birmingham.
He has handed the captain's armband to Ben Gibson but started the opening three league games; a win over Coventry and defeats to Watford and West Brom. He stayed on the bench last night for a 5-0 Carabao Cup win at Middlesbrough.

Stoke have a crowded midfield department and have fielded interest in Laurent in the run up to 11pon on Friday, with the Athletic now claiming that Burnley are in talks about an 11th hour switch.
Burnley are in need of new additions, having used Luke McNally as an emergency striker and named three keepers on the bench in last weekend's defeat to Sunderland. Midfielders Sander Berge and Scott Twine have left this month while Scott Parker has also cashed in on Dara O'Shea, Anass Zaroury, Wilson Odobert and Arijanet Muric.
Parker has today completed the signing of midfielder Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
