A tractor that toppled and caught fire in Chatteris on Sunday (October 6) continued to cause traffic delays on Monday morning (October 7). Cars were brought to a standstill on the A142 near Ireton's Way, between Mepal and Chatteris, on Monday, as emergency services attended the scene.

A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed that three crews from Chatteris, March and Ely attended the incident on Sunday, and the fire was extinguished by 9.45am. Nobody was injured.

Inrix, the traffic data company, reported that the obstruction remained on the road just after 7am on Monday, and that it had been cleared by around 10.55am. Before the tractor had been removed, Inrix said: "The A142 Iretons Way in both directions is partially blocked, with very slow traffic due to an obstruction on the road after the Upwell Turn Off.
