REPAIRS: Crompton Way is not open after repair works took place

CROMPTON Way has fully reopened after work to repair a water leak was completed this afternoon.

Part of Crompton Way with its junction Tonge Moor Road was shut off as United Utilities carried out emergency repairs.

Work started on January 19 and caused gridlock in the area, with many motorists stuck in traffic for large periods of time.

A spokesman for Bolton Council announced that the road had reopened just minutes ago.

He said: "United Utilities have completed their work on Crompton Way and the road is now fully open.

"The urgent repairs were needed to fix a water leak.

"We would like to thank everyone for their patience while this work was carried out."
