It's been over 20 years since Dawson's Creek first made its way onto our screens, so you best believe we can still recite that damn theme song today.

Someone else who just loves singing along to Paula Lane's 'I Don't Wanna Wait' is Dawson's Creek star Busy Philipps, who recently performed the track on her chat show.

In a shot of nostalgia, Busy – who played Audrey Liddell in the teen drama – treated the live audience of Busy Tonight to a spot of karaoke after a tech fail halted filming.

But that's not all – Busy also revealed something about the theme song that will change your outlook forever, declaring: "this song is about war but no one ever knows that".

"Enjoy."

Thanks, Busy.

In more upbeat news, Dawson's Creek creator Kevin Williamson revealed earlier this year that the main characters of the series are doing just fine even today.

As part of Entertainment Weekly's anniversary celebration, Williamson reassured fans that Dawson (James Van Der Beek) is "still friends" with Katie Holmes' Joey and Joshua Jackson's Pacey, who are also still "very much together".

"I think they're still best friends," he offered. "I don't think they see enough of each other and they really wish they could. I think that they probably text each other a lot."
