A lot of people find it tricky to come up with healthy lunches when they're at work or out and about.

Many opt for a simple sandwich, which can sometimes pack in the calories – especially if you've brought it from a supermarket.

However, one Tesco shopper has revealed how she's lost 16lbs in 15 weeks even though she buys her lunch from the store.

Fitness coach Hawys D, known on Instagram as @coaching_in_hd, often shares her fat loss hacks with her 42,000 followers on the site. And in one of her latest reels, she decided to share what she buys from Tesco to keep her hunger at bay during lunchtime.

The reel begins with the coach standing outside a Tesco Express store with a carrier bag ready to do her healthy lunchtime shop. Overlay text reads: "What I buy for lunch – Little Tesco Edition. 16lbs down in 15 weeks."

She's then seen browsing the sandwich aisle as she adds: "This might surprise you, but I'm not gonna go for a meal deal."

Explaining why, she says: "These salads and sandwiches are packing nearly 500 calories, and even the healthy high protein options could still set you back nearly 1,000 calories.

"Whilst you shouldn't be scared of calories, if you need 1,500 calories to lose weight, then you're having nearly two thirds of your allowance in one meal."

She continued: "So instead, I'm moseying to the refrigerated section and buying some pre-cooked chicken. I prefer the seasoned one, but you can get plain."

The fitness coach said half a pack of the chicken has "around 30 grams of protein". She paired this with a microwavable packet of Ben's Original Favourite Chicken Flavour Rice. "Half a pack is around 170 calories," she said. "More filling with fewer calories than a sandwich."

Next to 'add volume and fibre to keep her full', the social media star bought a packet of sweet & crisp side salad. She said if you're "feeling fancy" though, you can switch it for a pack of veggies than can be microwaved.

She then said: "Finally, I'm gonna grab a massive bottle of water to keep me hydrated."

Hawys said her items had "cost a little bit more" than a meal deal, as she showed her total was £5.80. However, she said: "Realistically, I'm only going to be eating half the rice and half the chicken, meaning per portion, it has actually worked out cheaper and a lot more filling than a regular meal deal – actually helping me stick to my calories."

Following up in the caption, she said: "Fat loss lunch hacks. I have a BIG appetite, so a 800kcal meal deal just isn’t going to keep me full…⁣"

People were loving her post, with it racking up thousands of likes. One person exclaimed: "This is quite literally the content I need," while another said it was "really helpful".

A third also agreed, saying: "This is really helpful! I find myself on these situations, so thank you."
