Love Island was THE runaway TV hit of the summer, and it seems now everyone is jumping on the bandwagon.

Not least Channel 5 – which has not quite matched the ITV2 show in ratings with Big Brother this year.

The broadcaster has now unveiled a brand new show called Make or Break?, which will see a number of couples sent off to a tropical Mexican paradise.

However, there's a twist, as these eight couples are immediately put "on a break" when they arrive and must swap partners every 48 hours.

"Through partner swaps and trials our experts will give the couples the tools to make better relationship decisions," the synopsis reads.

"Throughout their stay, they'll face expert-led behavioural workshops, a series of challenges, and sex therapies that should help them be happier as a result, whether that means staying together, or breaking up.

"At the end of their stay, they'll simply be asked to make one big final decision. Is their relationship make, or is it break?"

Sounds kind of familiar, eh?

The couples that will be taking part are below:

  • Abbi, hair extension technician, 24, and Stephen, events manager, 32, from Stevenage

  • Beth, student, 21, and David, marketer, 27, from Nottingham

  • Elle, legal support worker, 24, from Manchester and Andy, student, 23, from Nottingham

  • Ellie, YouTuber, 21, and Connor, fitness clothing company owner, 23, from Bristol

  • Holly, support worker/ring girl for UK Fighting Championships, 22, and Karl, sales, 26, from Blackburn

  • Jess, student, 21, and Matty, concierge, 23, from Liverpool

  • Nikita, stripper, 28, and Che, engineering apprentice, 21, from Newcastle

  • Sophii, bar manager 26, and Richard, personal trainer, 24, from Cardiff

Make or Break? will kick off on Monday, August 7 at 10pm on Channel 5.
