Crossed Wires! Building Mix-Up Leaves Cables Running Through MIDDLE Of New-Build Villas

This is one cable guy who won’t be getting called back.

Homeowners in China were distraught to discover their newly-built villas came with wiring that runs right through their living rooms, bedrooms and staircases.

Instead of hiding the cables behind the walls, developers put them in plain view, blocking residents’ paths around the interior of their homes.

This development disaster at a set of villas at a housing estate in the city of Hangzhou in China’s Zhejiang Province is the result of poor planning.

Builders failed to co-ordinate their different activities and the cables were installed too early. They decided to build three of the houses around the wiring.

Residents have been told they will have to pay electricians to rewire the houses and hide the cables. Developers want residents to pay an extra £2,000 for their removal, it was reported.

More homes are slated to be built on the site but the local council has halted development while it investigates the cabling issue.

The homeowners refuse to pay the extra fee, resulting in a stalemate. For now, the cables - which carry telephone, television and internet connections - aren’t going anywhere.
