Cadbury has come under fire from fans who claim the chocolate giant has 'ruined Christmas' after it confirmed a beloved product had been discontinued. Shoppers have been scouring stores for a particular festive treat that typically graces shelves at this time of year.

However, their search has proven fruitless, leading many to question on social media where the festive friends have gone. Cadbury's confirmation that the product won't be returning this year led one disgruntled customer to exclaim, 'getting rid of them is like getting rid of Santa'.

One frustrated fan asked: "@CadburyUK what's going on with the festive friends this year I can't find them anywhere? Christmas is getting ruined and it's only September..... fuming. P.s don't try telling me the festive animals are "the same"...... ".

Another queried: "@CadburyUK hello have you discontinued festive friends? " To which Cadbury responded with the dreaded news: "Hi there. Our Cadbury Festive Friends aren't returning this year, but don't worry, we have our new Cadbury Festive Animals for you to try They are the same Animal biscuits you know and love, but with new festive shapes! We enjoy them best dunked in a hot chocolate."

The biscuit enthusiast didn't take the news lightly, responding: "I've had festive friends since I was a child. Getting rid of them is like getting rid of Santa. Animal biscuits are a darker biscuit compared to festive friends, they are also a lot smaller biscuit. They were the best item of the festive range, why did you pick these over others? ", reports the Mirror.

Chocolate enthusiasts will be thrilled as a beloved 1980s chocolate bar name is set to return to the UK after a 34-year absence. In 1990 the well-known Marathon bar was relabelled as Snickers, but Mars has announced a limited-edition "special Marathon retro edition" is on its way.

"We're excited to bring back the Marathon bar branding for a limited period," Mars' senior brand manager Steve Waters commented. "It's a great way to celebrate over 90 years of Mars making chocolate in the UK. We hope fans of Snickers, who remember when it was called Marathon, will enjoy picking it up in store."
