Cadbury has come under fire from customers after it confirmed the discontinuation of its popular Festive Friends treats. The decision by the chocolate behemoth has sparked outrage, with numerous fans voicing their disappointment on social media platforms.

One disgruntled customer queried Cadbury on X about the noticeable absence of Festive Friends in stores, only to be informed that they had been discontinued. This revelation was met with widespread disappointment, with one fan lamenting: "I've had festive friends since I was a child. Getting rid of them is like getting rid of Santa."

"Animal biscuits are a darker biscuit compared to festive friends, they are also a lot smaller biscuits. They were the best item of the festive range, why did you pick these over others?"

In response, Cadbury suggested that customers might want to try their new Festive Animals instead, but this suggestion fell flat, as fans pointed out that they were smaller and darker than the original Festive Friends. One customer vented: "@CadburyUK what's going on with the festive friends this year I can't find them anywhere? Christmas is getting ruined and it's only September..... fuming. P.s don't try telling me the festive animals are "the same"...... ".

Another fan queried: "@CadburyUK hello have you discontinued festive friends? " To which Cadbury replied: "Hi there. Our Cadbury Festive Friends aren't returning this year, but don't worry, we have our new Cadbury Festive Animals for you to try They are the same Animal biscuits you know and love, but with new festive shapes! We enjoy them best dunked in a hot chocolate."

Chocolate fans were given some good news this week, as an iconic 80s chocolate bar is poised for a UK revival after a 34-year hiatus. The snack, once known as Marathon, was rebranded to Snickers in 1990, and now Mars has revealed they will be launching a "special Marathon retro edition".

"We're excited to bring back the Marathon bar branding for a limited period," announced Steve Waters, senior brand manager at Mars. "It's a great way to celebrate over 90 years of Mars making chocolate in the UK. We hope fans of Snickers, who remember when it was called Marathon, will enjoy picking it up in store."
