Cadbury Is Apologising For Its New Vegan Chocolate Bar

Cadbury has followed in the footsteps of Galaxy and created a brand-new vegan chocolate bar.

The Cadbury Plant Bar comes in two delicious flavours: Cadbury Plant Bar Smooth Chocolate and Cadbury Plant Bar Smooth Chocolate with Salted Caramel pieces. Both bars will be available to buy from UK store from November this year.

But Cadbury has an apology attached to the new release, because the guys at Cadbury HQ know they’ve left us waiting way too long for a vegan chocolate bar.

Michael Moore, Marketing Manager at Cadbury, said: “We’re delighted to finally confirm that the rumours swirling around Cadbury Plant Bar are true! We’ve worked hard to add this delicious, dairy-free option to our iconic range, and we can only apologise for making our fans wait. Ensuring we deliver against our commitment to exceptional flavour has taken quite some time, but as of November, the wait is over.”

The new Cadbury Plant bars aren’t just great for the environment because of their plant-based ingredients, but also because the packaging is also 100% plant-based packaging, and has been created using certified bio-sourced plastics made from renewable sources.”

We first heard whisperings of a vegan Cadbury chocolate bar back in February 2020.

A Mondelez (the company that owns Cadbury) spokesperson said at the time: “We’re always listening to our consumers so we can develop and provide people with greater choice.

“This includes looking at a plant-based Cadbury Dairy Milk bar. However, we have no immediate plans to launch.

“We are only interested in launching a new vegan product that retains the texture and taste that our consumers expect and love.”

The Cadbury Plant Bar, 90g, will be available in Sainsbury’s nationwide from November 2021 and newsagents and supermarkets across the UK from January 2022 onwards with an RRP of £2.50.
