A new cafe and takeaway could open its doors in the home of a former shop in Coventry. That is according to a new application submitted to Coventry City Council.

It seeks the go ahead to change the use of 189 Cheveral Avenue from a shop, F M TV Services, into a hot food takeaway use including a new external flue. In the application it explains that the new venture would feature a seated area.

"The restaurant will feature a seated serving area to the front with provision for approximately 25 seated," the application explains, adding: "To the rear is a kitchen and kitchen area with an extract system."

The application does not explain what kind of food will be served at the new eatery. But it explains that it will be open Monday to Friday from 12noon until 10.30pm. On Saturdays from 12noon until 11.30pm and on Sundays from 12noon until 10.30pm.

Planners at the city council are now looking into the proposals. The application is pending and a decision on whether it will be given the go-ahead will be made by August 20.
