In a collaboration few saw coming, Caitlyn Jenner has shared that she’s done some filming for Mrs Brown's Boys.

The US star posted a photo of herself on the comedy's set alongside Brendan O'Carroll in character as Agnes Brown to her Instagram account on Tuesday night.

In the snap, the 70-year-old is seen reading the fictional newspaper favoured by Mrs Brown, the Northside People, while the matriarch stands over her.

"Had so much fun shooting this funny comedy in Scotland! Mrs. Brown’s Boys!" Jenner captioned the photo.

The former athlete wasn't suffering from geographical confusion as while the sitcom is set in Ireland, the show is actually filmed in Scotland.

A representative for the show confirmed to Yahoo News that Jenner will be guest on the talk show spin off, All Round to Mrs Brown’s when it returns later in the year.

Following on from her stint on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! last year, Jenner jetted over to the UK last week to present the Challenge Show gong at the National Television Awards.

It was a big night for Mrs Brown's Boys too as the BBC show scooped the Best Comedy prize for the fifth time having won the accolade in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.

The show aired three seasons between 2011 and 2013 and has returned every year for specials around Christmas and New Year.

Meanwhile, All Round to Mrs Brown’s has aired a season every year since 2017.

Star and creator O'Carroll teased back in December that another full series could be on the cards.

The 64-year-old comedian told Metro.co.uk: “I’m happy with Christmas specials. At some stage… they continually hint at some stage of having a full series back. Just having a full series.

“The agreement with the BBC is that when they decide it’s over, it’s over and that suits me fine. I bring it to a close.

“But as long as they want to keep running it on Christmas Day I’m gonna keep doing it on Christmas Day and hopefully get better and better and better.”
