A new cake has recently opened in an Oxfordshire shopping centre.

The Cake Box has welcomed its first customers at the Castle Quay Shopping Centre in Banbury.

The store sells a range of egg-free, vegetarian, fresh cream cakes including celebration cakes, cheesecakes, cake slices and cupcakes.

Customers can also have their chosen cakes personalised and ready within an hour.

Cake Box, which has more than 200 stores across the country, is located next to Bakers & Baristas.

It will be open between 9:30am and 5:30pm on Monday to Saturday and 10:30am and 4:30pm on Sundays.

The first Cake Box branch was set up in Forest Gate, East London, in 2008 by Sukh Chamdal, who found it difficult to follow a lacto-vegetarian diet and find quality egg-free cakes.

Oliver Wren, centre director at Castle Quay said: “Cake Box is a fantastic addition to our already impressive food line-up.

"We feel its brand personality and aspirations fits perfectly with ours and offers our customers tasty, indulgent and high-quality treats.

"The brand has already proved very popular with our shoppers and I have no doubt that Cake Box will quickly become a must-visit store for cake lovers within the community.”

The shopping centre is located in the centre of Banbury by the Oxford Canal, off Castle Street.

Castle Quay Shopping Centre has over a hundred stores with major anchor stores including Boots and WH Smith.
