Calamitous Corey in wrong place at wrong time - now he's in prison

A dealer has been jailed after monkey dust and cannabis worth up to £22,000 were found in a house. Police detained Corey Gilchrist after finding him near a house that officers were preparing to search on Lansdowne Road, in Hartshill.

The 31-year-old, from Hartshill, later pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing class B drugs with intent to supply. He was jailed for 16 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

The raid was carried out in March.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Officers found a large quantity of monkey dust and cannabis that had been sorted into different bags inside the address, as well as £1,180 in cash and scales. The estimated street value of the cannabis was believed to be worth up to £19,880. The monkey dust was believed to be worth around £400 to £1,860."
