Caldor Fire Prompts State of Emergency and Forces Evacuations in El Dorado County

A state of emergency was announced for California’s El Dorado County as the Caldor Fire grew in size and forced the evacuation of communities on August 17.

The fire was 6,500 acres in size on the morning of August 17, according to Cal Fire.

Firefighting authorities said two people had been injured by the fire and required transport to hospital by air.
