California Coastal Fire Fully Contained, Fire Officials Say

Firefighters fully contained the Coastal Fire in Laguna Niguel, California, on Tuesday, May 17, fire officials said.

Footage posted by the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) on Tuesday morning shows scenes from the fire since it began on May 11.

The fire prompted mandatory evacuations and destroyed homes.

“While homes were destroyed, there were countless that were saved by the tireless and coordinated work of firefighters,” the OCFA said on Twitter.
