California Solar Eclipse Captured in Timelapse

Monday’s solar eclipse was captured in this timelapse video from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, in Sacramento, California.

The eclipse caused the state’s power grid to lose about 3,000 megawatts of solar power, according to the Sacremento Bee. It took the power grid roughly one hour to return to normal.

Californians were asked to conserve energy during the eclipse, which started at around 9:30 am. Credit: Cal OES via Storyful
