Call the Midwife confirms return to filming
Call the Midwife season 14 is officially back in production.
The exciting update was shared on the show's official Instagram account with a post confirming that filming on the next series was underway again following their annual summer hiatus.
"Hello all! We are now all back filming series 14 after our customary summer break," begins the caption.
"It was our annual leave for the CTM team in the middle of the long year's filming, to allow us to see family and friends, book a holiday, and generally let our hair down!"

The post includes a selfie of stars Stephen McGann and Max Macmillan - aka Dr Turner and his son Timothy Turner - with a third individual whose identity is revealed in the caption.
"For Stephen McGann, there was no time for a holiday," the caption continues. "He and his partner Heidi Thomas (Call the Midwife Writer & Executive Producer) had something rather special to take care of ... their son Dominic's wedding!"
The photo captures the moment Stephen's real life son met his on-screen son, with the caption hailing the meeting as "14 long years in the making!"

"Throughout the long filming of CTM, these two have been exchanging pleasantries with each other via Stephen - referring to each other as 'real son' and 'fake son'," the caption continues. "But they'd never actually met face to face until now.
"Stephen thought it worth recording the moment for posterity with a selfie - but his look of confusion is understandable, given the fact that his two worlds have now, finally, collided!"
Call the Midwife is returning to screens later this year with a 2024 Christmas special, followed by season 14 which is expected to follow in early 2025.
The season 13 finale left audiences unsure what the future held for fan-favourite midwife Trixie (played by Helen George), who decided to join her husband Matthew for a new start in New York.
Thankfully, George's future on the show was confirmed in April this year with an update from show make-up supervisor Mariella Spoto.
Sharing a short clip of George filming in costume to her Instagram, Spoto wrote: "Series 14 awaits... @callthemidwife.official."
It certainly suggests Trixie is set to hang around for a little longer...
Call the Midwife airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
