Newcastle United are without top scorer Callum Wilson for this evening's Premier League clash against Bournemouth (kick-off 5:30pm).

The Magpies' No.9 started the 2-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday evening but was brought off at half-time because of hamstring tightness.

Wilson has been called up to Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia next weekend but is now a major doubt.

Wilson hasn't arrived at the Vitality Stadium with the rest of his teammates. Anthony Gordon is set to lead the line in the 31-year-old's absence.

Including Wilson, Eddie Howe is without 11 senior players for his return to the South Coast.

Bruno Guimaraes is suspended, which could hand a first Premier League start to 17-year-old Lewis Miley.

Alexander Isak, Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy, Dan Burn, Elliot Anderson, Sven Botman, Javier Manquillo and Matt Targett are injured, while Sandro Tonali is serving a 10-month ban from football.

Howe has called up under-21s trio Amadou Diallo, Alex Murphy and Ben Parkinson. The latter two appeared for the Magpies' first-team in pre-season.

Newcastle are hoping to make it 10 domestic games unbeaten ahead of the two-week international break.
