Yahoo News Calum Best explains his Lorraine no-show last week
Calum Best raised a few eyebrows last week when he didn't show up for a scheduled Bit on the Side appearance and an interview on Lorraine the day after.
The Celebrity Big Brother star cleared it all up this morning, though, when he finally sat down with Lorraine Kelly.
"I'm sorry I missed you, and I'm glad to be back," he said. "I always love coming to see you."
So what was the reason for his no-show?
"They can't air stuff like that, but for about two weeks in there, I had an ear infection," he explained. "I had it about 11 days.
"When I came out, I went to the hospital and I'm on the mend now.
"I wasn't myself. I slept a lot - which I don't think they aired - and everyone called me boring. But oh well, what can you do!"
Of course, Celebrity Big Brother did reference his ear infection, albeit briefly.
On Day 23, Calum was seen explaining to Spencer Pratt that he was feeling unwell, after Spencer asked: "You've been, like, sober for two nights in a row."
"I've been ill. That's why I've been on edge. I'm sick," Calum replied, with Spencer asking, "The ear thing?"
"Yeah, I'm not trying to show it. I just want people to respect it," Calum said.
Calum made it to the last week of the series, before he was booted out three days before the grand finale. And he couldn't be more delighted that Coleen Nolan was crowned the champion ahead.
"There's something very warm and nurturing about Coleen," he told Lorraine. "She's somebody I can confide in.
"She's a very warm, open, comfortable person, so I'm very happy for her."
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV.
