Cambridge named one of the most 'desirable' places to live in national guide
Cambridge has been named one of the most desirable towns and cities in the UK. The list was recently updated by the Telegraph, using figures compiled by Savills.
The estate agents used the latest census data to help rank 50 places that scored the highest across several factors. This includes the proportion of residents holding managerial jobs, level of qualifications, the state of their health and the costs of buying a house.
In total, Cambridge placed at number 16 on the list. The city was also revealed to have an average house price of £588,000 and is the only place in the county to be featured.

The city is known for the world-renowned University of Cambridge and its 31 colleges. This includes King's College with its iconic chapel and famous choir.
Cambridge is also a popular tourist destination, with its stunning Gothic architecture, bustling market and wide mixture of well-known retailers and independent shops. It has two restaurants with Michelin stars, including Midsummer House, which has two stars and its idyllic location on the River Cam and punting tradition also help it to stand out.
The list described Cambridge as "a world-class science and tech hub with well-paid and well-educated professionals in its wake". Ed Meyer, of the local Savills office, added that it was the "perfect small city".
