A parkrun in Cambridge has been cancelled as the course is blocked by the remains of a burnt-out motorbike. Going ahead with the weekly run at Storey's Field in Eddington would "not be safe" according to organisers.

A spokesperson for the Storey's Field parkrun team said: "Unfortunately, we have had to cancel tomorrow's parkrun at Storey's Field. This is due to the course being almost entirely blocked on the two-way section by the remains of a burnt out motorbike, which we are not confident will be cleared in time for tomorrow.

"It would simply not be safe to have 300+ runners attempting to pass in two directions through the remaining space. Hopefully the course will be cleared and we will be back as usual next week on the 28th, but we will endeavour to keep you updated here."
