An award-winning Cambridge restaurant has been named among the best in the world in a prestigious guide. Midsummer House was highlighted in La Liste's top 1,000 restaurants for 2025.

The list is based on the compilation of thousands of reviews from publications, guidebooks, critics and online ratings. Each restaurant was given a score ranging from 0 to 100.

Midsummer House was the only restaurant from Cambridgeshire to be featured on the list. It is also one of 75 across the UK to be mentioned, with venues from London, Oxford, Nottingham, York and other towns and cities included.

The restaurant, which scored an overall rating of 92 out of 100, first opened its doors to customers in 1998. It has since become one of the most acclaimed eateries in the city, winning five AA rosettes and becoming the only restaurant in the county to be awarded two Michelin stars.

The venue is set in a Victorian villa with its back to the River Cam and overlooking the grazing cows of Midsummer Common. It offers diners with an ever-changing tasting menu consisting of dishes that are presented one at a time and use the freshest seasonal ingredients.

Midsummer House has also been praised by locals over the years, with a four-and-a-half star rating on review platform TripAdvisor. Diners have praised the restaurant for being "spectacular from start to finish" as well as "an outstanding experience".
