A coffee roastery, which has been a staple in Milton since the 80s, has recently launched a new espresso bar. Its proximity to Milton Country Park makes the beloved spot an ideal morning out for coffee and a walk.

As speciality coffee has been rising in popularity recently, Jack Beynon, 24, the Manager of the Espresso Bar café, wants to "showcase higher-end coffees" that are available to buy from their roastery, Coffee World. Customers are able to choose from a range of coffee beans to have in their drink with staff on hand to make personalised recommendations to suit each individual's taste.

The Espresso Bar café is the latest addition to Coffee World's roastery business, which also features The Academy that trains local baristas and offers courses to the public about how to make great coffee at home. You may have already tried the company's coffee without knowing, as they already supply coffee to Cafe Foy and a few of the University of Cambridge's colleges including Trinity and Corpus Christi College.

With Cambridgeshire locals spoilt for choice in terms of cafés they can visit, the Espresso Bar is trying to stand out with their expert knowledge and variety of coffee. Mr Beynon said: "A part of what makes us special is that we are one of the few cafés in Cambridge that's directly connected to a roastery. The Academy means all of our staff have knowledge about not just how to make a coffee but the entire supply chain of coffee.

"Our availability of coffee is good fun. We have a large range of speciality coffee that not many places will offer. We have a freezer menu as well, which is more something you would see in London cafés. It is quite unique to the Cambridge area."

The café's freezer menu contains coffees that are rarely available and have been roasted and then frozen to preserve the flavours. Some of the beans may have been harvested years ago but this process helps to keep them tasting fresh.

For a first-time customer, Mr Beynon recommends a pour over coffee to enjoy the drink in its 'purest form'. However, if you are not a fan of black coffee, the café's staff will be able to point you in the right direction of the ideal coffee bean for you based on your usual order.

The Espresso Bar café can be found on Cambridge road in Milton and is just a short walk away from Milton Country Park. But the shop also has plenty of seating if you fancy a more relaxed experience. The café is open everyday from 8am to 4pm.
