Cambridge bin collection: Cambridgeshire bin collection dates over late May bank holiday

Some bin collections in Cambridgeshire will change as a result of the late May bank holiday on Monday (May 27). Local authorities have advised people to check their bin collection days to ensure refuse gets collected.

Residents in some areas will have to put their bins out later than usual to ensure they get collected. In other places, bin collection dates will remain the same.

We've listed changes to bin collections for each local authority below. Read on to check your May bank holiday bin collection days.

Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire

A Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service spokesperson said: "Collections after the bank holiday on Monday 27 will be a day behind – we will be operating in the City Centre only on Monday 27."

Collection dates will remain the same. The household recycling centre will close earlier than usual at 4pm.

East Cambridgeshire

Waste collections will be one day later following the bank holiday. You can see the collection dates below.


There will be no changes to bin collection dates. Collections will go ahead as normal.


A Fenland District Council spokesperson said: "Due to the bank holiday weekend, all bin collections will be one day later than usual next week. Normal collections resume on Monday 3rd June."
