Cambridgeshire Cycling Centre could become restaurant and takeaway
A Cambridgeshire cycling centre could become a restaurant and takeaway under plans submitted to Peterborough City Council. A planning application submitted on behalf of ZT Logistics Ltd could see the cycling centre at Orton Meadows become a restaurant and takeaway.
The company already runs the Blind Tiger bar in Cowgate, Peterborough. A planning statement submitted with the application said that the centre be converted to allow for leisure activities like crazy golf or an escape room.
It added that the development is expected to create 15 jobs, six of which would be full-time. "The proposed uses will compliment Orton Meadows Golf Course, which is within the wider Ferry Meadows Country Park, enable a commercial use for the proposed applicants and also support Nene Park Trust to continue to enhance and promote recreation at the Parks," the application said.

Part of the building was previously used as a cycling centre and is currently vacant. The application said that the proposed use will improve the range and quality of local facilities, as well as helping "promote the image of Peterborough".
