Farm shops are great way to buy food, particularly when you want to celebrate a special occasion. In Cambridgeshire, we are spoilt for choice, with many wonderful outlets offering fresh meat, vegetables, cheeses, and much more to customers.

One such example is Willow Brook Farm Shop, which is often hailed as one of the best in the county. The site, located on Scotsman Lodge in Peterborough, has a wealth of experience and history behind it.

The Morton family has been farming at the lodge since 1938, with three generations working on the land. The shop itself has been open since 2003 and is well-known for its wide range of good quality products.

The shop is a traditional butchers and sells a variety of meats, including poultry, pork, lamb, as well as its own Willow Brook home-reared beef. They also sell fresh fruit and vegetables daily, sauces, jams, chutneys, homemade pies, sausage rolls, local honey, and cheeses.

Have a bite to eat at the tea room

In 2009, The Granary Tea Room was opened on the site, serving home-cooked food using produce from the farm shop and locally sourced ingredients. The cafe is open from 9am to 4pm every day except Bank Holidays, with daily breakfasts, light lunches, homemade soups and cream teas among the menu items on offer.

Both the farm shop and the cafe have received rave reviews from locals over the years, with reviewers on Google praising the "fantastic range of fresh meats and poultry" as well as the "lovely food". The shop has also been recognised on a national scale, winning "'Best Farm Shop & Deli East of England' at the 2022 Great British Food Awards.

Willow Brook Farm Shop is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Sunday. More details can be found on their website here.
