A cashier had a gun pointed at her in an attempted armed robbery at a Cambridgeshire post office. A man, armed with what police believe was a handgun, entered the Post Office in Rookery Place, Fenstanton, at around 9pm on Thursday (September 12).

He pointed the weapon at the cashier behind the counter before gesturing for her to empty the till. The victim, a woman in her 20s, shut the till and ran into the back of the premises.

No items were taken during the incident. Cambridgeshire Police has now launched an appeal for information.
