A Cambuslang man has said his house is "the brightest in the street" as he looks to spread some Christmas cheer.

Jack Morrison, 24, said the festive lights at his house have been getting "bigger and bigger" since he moved to Woodland Crescent with his dad five years ago with this year's the biggest one yet.

The BT Openreach desk engineer also said his neighbours "love" the lights, with parents coming with their children from across Glasgow to see the illuminations.

Jack told Glasgow Live: "Me and my dad are big kids when it comes to Christmas lights and we'd lived in a flat for most of our lives.

"So when we moved here five years ago it started and it's built up - now it's got quite big. People are always coming to look at it to say how amazing it is.

"It gets a lot of attention with it getting shared on Facebook, with loads of people saying they're going to see it. Every year we're the brightest house in the street.

"We've got two primary schools across the road so you always get little kids coming over and pointing at it and looking all happy, all they're families come with them too. It's just nice seeing everyone coming to look at them and being happy.

"The neighbours always come and chat when we're decorating cause it takes hours to do, they've all been saying we've outdone ourselves this year. They say they love opening their blinds knowing it'll light up in the evening.

Jack says it's the first year they've decided to use the lights to try and raise money for charity, with donations going to Glasgow Children's Hospital.

He added: "Christmas is all about giving and they do such amazing work for the kids."
