Yahoo News Cameron Diaz confirms she has welcomed a baby with Good Charlotte star Benji Madden
Hollywood superstar Cameron Diaz is celebrating the New Year in a very special way.
The Charlie's Angels and Shrek actress shared the wonderful news on Friday (January 3) that she has welcomed a daughter called Raddix, her first with Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden.
"Happy New Year from the Maddens," she wrote on Instagram. "We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family."
Unlike most celebrities, Cameron won't be selling the first photos of her newborn for lucrative magazine covers because of "a strong instinct to protect [their little one's privacy".
"We won't be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute! Some would even say RAD," Diaz wrote.
Diaz shying away from the limelight with her daughter's birth comes a year on from her revealing that she'd decided to quietly retire from movies after the remake of Annie.
The multi-time Golden Globe Award-nominated actress married Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden back in 2015 following a whirlwind courtship.
Their nuptials took place at Diaz's Beverly Hills home, and were attended by A-list celebrity guests such as Nicole Richie, Charlie's Angels co-star Drew Barrymore and her-then husband Will Kopelman, Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as producer Jeffrey Katzenberg.
