A womens’ rights campaigner accused of transphobic comments has said criminal investigations into ‘wrongly misgendering’ people are ‘a waste of police time’.

Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull hit out at police for investigating ‘malicious communication’ after journalist Caroline Farrow was called in for questioning after ‘using the wrong pronoun to describe a transgender girl’.

Ms Keen-Minshull, 44, was first interviewed by West Yorkshire Police last year on suspicion of malicious communication and by Wiltshire Police in January following two YouTube clips she posted.

The campaigner was accused by Susie Green, whose child became the youngest in Britain to transition sex at the age of 16, of committing hate crime.

This comes as Catholic mum-of-five Mrs Farrow, 44, has been asked for an interview by Surrey Police for allegedly using the wrong pronoun to refer to Ms Green’s transgender daughter.

The campaigner, known as Posie Parker, said the police are wasting their time carrying out these investigations when they should be tackling problems facing the country, like knife crime.

She said: “We are in dangerous times when the police can’t tackle knife crime, but they can interview people about these comments.”

Referring to her own investigation, Ms Keen-Minshull said: ”I have had no news whatsoever. I am waiting for them to decide whether or not they should charge me.

“I can’t see it is in the public interest.”

The campaigner described the police investigations as “sinister” and said she “would hope the police are above such manipulation”.

The mother-of-four said it was abuse for such young people to be allowed to change their sex, she said: “They will have no bodily sex functions as adults. It is disgusting, like Nazi Germany.

“I think once they are older, they should have 24 months of intensive therapy so they know what they are doing.

“We are committing grave harm, there is something very strange going on.”

With regards to Mrs Farrow being questioned, she said: “There is a freedom of religious beliefs. It was bonified and fair.”

Mrs Farrow has said she is a “Catholic journalist and it is her belief that a person cannot change sex”.

Ms Keen-Minshull said: “It is ludicrous we are expected to go along with it. Does anyone have the right to tell me to go along with their ideology?”

A spokesman for Surrey Police, who are investigating Mrs Farrow, said they are carrying out a thorough investigation to “establish whether any criminal offences have taken place”.

Ms Green has now withdrawn her complaint to Surrey Police over Mrs Farrow’s comments.

A Media Officer for Wiltshire Police said: “We can confirm that we are investigating an allegation of harassment. We’ve submitted a file to the CPS and are awaiting their decision. As such, it would be inappropriate to comment any further at this time.”
