Campbell thinks Vince Cable will do well as Lib Dem leader

Vince Cable is the new leader of the Liberal Democrats, following the resignation of Tim Farron. Former leader, Ming Campbell believes Cable will bring electoral success to the struggling party, through the party's opposition to brexit. Vince Cable has called on pro-EU MPs to support the chancellor Philip Hammond - who is more liberal in his approach to brexit than many in his own party - and said that the Liberal Democrats could join a broader centrist movement opposed to Brexit. Campbell believes that when the implications of leaving the EU become apparrent to the public, there will be public support to backtrack on brexit.
