The story of Noah’s Ark has been imprinted on our minds since childhood – and we’ll all be pretty familiar with the tale of how the animals went in the ark two-by-two before the earth was submerged by deadly flood waters.

There were two elephants, two giraffes, two gazelles, etc etc. But according to this picture – there were also two gay lions.

That’s because only male lions are in possession of magnificent manes, and that’s exactly what both of these animals are sporting.

While it wouldn’t exactly be helpful when it came to the whole breeding thing after the floods, it’s a pretty brilliant faux pas from a book that isn’t exactly the most accepting of homosexuality.

But we much prefer this version – even if it probably isn’t what the creators had in mind. The illustrations are from The Children’s Bible: Illustrated Stories from the Old and New Testaments, published by Arcturus.
