'Welcome Mate': Canadian Firefighters Arrive in Australia to Help Battle Bushfires

Around 20 firefighters from Canada arrived in Sydney on December 5 to bolster efforts to battle bushfires across Australia.

“A warm Aussie welcome to 21 fire management personnel from Canada who have landed in Sydney this morning to support the firefighting effort,” the NSW Rurual Fire Service said in a tweet.

The temperature was due to reach a top of 34 degrees celcius in Sydney on December 5, in what was very much an ‘Australian’ welcome.
