Canadian Flag Lowered at Ottawa Peace Tower

The Canadian flag on Ottawa’s Peace Tower was lowered to half-mast on September 8 in tribute of Queen Elizabeth II.

The official Twitter account for the crown in Canada said the flags on all Government of Canada buildings and establishments, both in Canada and abroad, would be flown at half-mast.

The queen, who had served as the United Kingdom’s head of state since 1952, died at Balmoral aged 96, the royal family announced on Thursday. Credit: Guillaume Bertrand via Storyful
