Canadiens trade captain Max Pacioretty to Golden Knights in return for players, pick

The Montreal Canadiens announced early Monday that they have traded captain Max Pacioretty to the Vegas Golden Knights.

In exchange, Montreal receives Tomas Tatar, Nick Suzuki and a second-round pick in the 2019 draft.

Pacioretty has played 626 career games with the Canadiens since Montreal drafted him in 2007. He will be an unrestricted free agent after next season at the end of a six-year, $27 million deal.
