Candles Lit at Illinois Capitol Vigil After Adam Toledo Shooting Body Cam Released

A vigil was held on the steps of the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield after body cam footage of the fatal shooting of Chicago 13-year-old Adam Toledo was released on April 15.

The graphic body cam footage of the March 29 shooting was released by the Civilian Office of Police Accountability.

This footage was filmed by Twitter user @amrennard, who captioned it, “Candlelight vigil for #AdamToledo and #DaunteWright and too many others.” The footage shows candles being lit and a Black Lives Matter banner hung at the base of an Abraham Lincoln statue. Credit: @amrennard via Storyful
