Tilda Swinton and Lily Collins rubbed shoulders with Rihanna on the red carpet of the premiere of Netflix film Okja, hours after a disastrous press screening.
The A-list stars were joined by Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano at the Grand Theatre Lumiere on the third day of the Cannes Film Festival on Friday.
Despite positive review, the Netflix-produced film ran into controversy earlier in the day when the official screening was halted after just 10 minutes.
Viewers started heckling and jeering as soon as the Netflix logo appeared during Friday morning’s screening, amid controversy over the streaming service’s inclusion at the festival.
It soon became clear that the film was playing in the wrong aspect ratio, with the top of star Tilda Swinton’s head cut off in many screenings.
After relentless booing, the screening was abruptly stopped after just 10 minutes and then restarted later on.
The South Korean-American adventure film is about a young girl who risks everything to save an animal from a multi-national company.
Stars including Emily Ratajkowski, Bella Hadid, Nicole Kidman and Susan Sarandon have all walked the red carpet at this year’s festival, which go under way on Wednesday.
