'Can't stand bullies' - Anger, outrage and support for boy who had new coat stolen in Leeds

Support has flooded in for a child who had his coat robbed by a gang of bullies in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police said the boy was robbed at around 7pm on Wednesday, January 22, when a group followed him into a secluded area. They grabbed him and pinned him up against the wall.

Then, they robbed him of his brand new coat before leaving. This all took place at the St John's Centre in Merrion Street in Leeds City Centre.

After West Yorkshire Police issued CCTV images of three people they want to speak to in connection to the robbery, support flooded in for the boy from across kindhearted people of Leeds.

Gemma Smith wrote: "Absolutely disgusting I hope this boy is ok and gets his coat back what is wrong with people why would you want to steal someone’s coat?"

Diane Buckle added: "I hope the boy is gonna be safe and well. There are too many bullies out there it's about time they got proper justice. It's all wrong. If they do wrong they should be dealt with".

Hannah Lee wrote: "Ehhhhh av heard of people nicking off of washing lines but never off ya back dirty scruffy down and out lowest of the low hope the boy is ok".

Lisa Scales added: "Disgraceful. Hope they are caught and named and shamed. Bet they felt like Billy big b***s bullying someone. Bet the kid was a lot smaller and more timid than them all too".

Colleen Cooper said: "Absolute thugs bullying. Cannot stand bullies". Yvonne Brook simply said: "Absolutely disgusting".
