Capaldi back filming Doctor Who after exit announcement
His time as the Time Lord might be running out, but Peter Capaldi was back filming on Doctor Who this weekend.
Along with Pearl Mackie (new companion Bill) and Matt Lucas (Nardole), Capaldi was spotted shooting scenes at Mount Stuart Square in Cardiff on Sunday (February 5).
A hideous new monster – with mangled facial features and shrivelled skin – was also glimpsed on set.
The beastie ended up in a tussle with another character – one of a group of supporting cast, some dressed as soldiers.
The Doctor and Bill were also snapped standing in front of a backdrop bearing the monster's image, along with the word... TRUTH.
What does it all mean? We've still got a little while to wait before we find out, with Doctor Who set to return to BBC One on Saturday, April 15.
Capaldi will feature in the next 12 episodes, before bowing out in the 2017 Christmas special.
"One of the greatest privileges of being Doctor Who is to see the world at its best," he said, announcing his departure after three years on the series.
"From our brilliant crew and creative team working for the best broadcaster on the planet, to the viewers and fans whose endless creativity, generosity and inclusiveness points to a brighter future ahead.
"I can't thank everyone enough. It's been cosmic."
We're not sure we're ready to say goodbye... 😭
