Capello Confirmed As Russia Manager

Former England coach Fabio Capello has a signed two year contract as Russia's national team manager.

Capello, who has been unemployed since stepping down as England manager in February, will now guide Russia through to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Italian has signed the deal with the Russian Football Union for an undisclosed sum.

He replaces Dick Advocat, who failed to take Russia past the group stages of the European Championships last month.

Capello said "Russia has great prospects and a tremendous amount of potential."

"We are going to be carefully watching all our clubs and especially watching out for the performance of the young players."

Capello will start his reign with a friendly against Ivory Coast on 15th August.
