Capitol Footage Shows Woman Wanted for Possible Theft of Pelosi Laptop

Footage from the US Capitol on January 6 shows Riley June Williams, a woman who the FBI has said may have stolen a laptop or hard drive from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office during the storming of the building.

According to an affidavit from the FBI, a “former romantic partner” of Williams said they saw her in news footage directing crowds inside the Capitol. The individual said friends of Williams showed them footage of her taking “a laptop computer or hard drive” from Pelosi’s office.

The individual claimed Williams intended to sell the device to “a friend in Russia,” who then “planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia’s foreign intelligence service,” according to the affidavit. The transfer of the device fell through and investigators believed Williams was still in possession of the device or had destroyed it at the time of writing.

The FBI said footage showing a “Caucasian female wearing a green t-shirt and brown trench coat and carrying a black-and-white striped zebra-print bag over her shoulders” is believed to be Williams.

Williams was arrested on Monday in Pennsylvania on charges of disorderly conduct and illegally entering the Capitol, but she had not yet been charged with theft, according to reports.
