Caprice becomes the third celebrity to quit The Jump this year

Another The Jump contestant has bitten the dust, although we are pleased to report that this time they haven’t suffered a horrific, life-changing injury.

Well, that we know of.

Caprice has quit the controversial show.

Caprice’s rep has confirmed that the star has officially quit the show after she was struck down with a mystery illness, which we are hoping isn’t too serious.

The 45-year-old model was forced to sit out of last night’s show but it wasn’t known if she’ll return to our screens next week, but her spokesperson has now revealed that Caprice has bowed out for good.

The rep told the Radio Times: “Caprice has actually withdrawn from the competition completely due to illness.”

Bradley Wiggins also quit this series.

Earlier this month, Caprice fractured her ribs when she flew off a ski jump and whacked herself in the chest with her skis, saying at the time: “You are training eight hours a day so I’ve been tired and had bad falls, aches and pains and bruises.

“I hurt my head and fractured my ribs when I was practicing the ski jump. As I hit the airbag, my skis bashed against me.”

The star is the third celebrity to pull out of this series with Sir Bradley Wiggins quitting after he broke his ankle and Vogue Williams leaving during training after she dislocated her knee.

The show has come under fire over the years for the dangerous stunts the celebrities are asked to perform, with Beth Tweddle breaking her back during last year’s series.

In a bid to conquer the amount of injuries shown on live TV, producers opted to pre-record the majority of this year’s series, but clearly that isn’t enough to prevent the celebs from hurting themselves.

Whatever has triggered Caprice’s decision to quit, we sincerely hope that she gets well soon.
