Car crashes into parked vehicle and knocks it into pole on Sheffield road

A car has crashed into a parked vehicle and knocked it into a post on a road in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police say the owner of a blue Volvo V40 was told at 4.14pm on Monday, September 15, that his parked car had been crashed into on Rutland Road. His Volvo was parked on the left side of the road near to the junction with Cooks Wood Road.

It crashed into a metal pole after being hit by another car.

The police have investigated and have searched through CCTV and interviewed witnesses, but are now appealing for public help. They said: "We are appealing for information, witnesses and footage following a reported collision on Rutland Road in Sheffield.

"It is reported that the owner of a blue Volvo V40 was informed around 4.14pm on Monday 16 September that his vehicle had been involved in a collision.

"The Volvo, which was parked on the left-hand side of the road, near the junction with Cooks Wood Road, collided with a metal pole after allegedly being hit by another vehicle.

"Various enquiries have been undertaken to investigate this incident, including CCTV trawls and witness statements."
